The

GREATER
PARTY
COMITTEE

INITIAL THOUGHTS

Let's make a party! How can we party with the people in Århus? Why are private parties always more fun than going out to clubs? How can we start the dancefloor? What can experience design do to a party? Why is no one doing this already?

CONTEXT

Back in the days, the Kaospilots where famous in Århus for their parties in Mejlgade. There hasn't been those rumors around town for the past 10 years, so approximately 8 people from T25 at the Kaospilots decided to try to bring that back.

CHALLENGE

-Getting the Kaospilot parties back in town

-Do it with with a close-to-zero-budget

-Do it with VERY little time for preparing

-Getting people to show up

PROCESS

Creating a somewhat flat structure was the foundation for working. Everyone signed up for a focusarea and started working, but always checking in with the rest of the crew before making any major decisions. The phrase 'yes and...' quickly became the method that was used for ideations and ways of doing things. It's like throwing spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks. People then did what they thought was important and fun, and those things would be the spaghetti on the wall.

SOLUTION

-Inviting all of our friends in Århus and have them spread the rumor

-Instagram profile with professional photos

-SMS chain as the only invitation platform

-Use network to help getting ressources such as cars, DJ's and bartenders

-Concepts as authentic as possible

-Make concepts to fit the venue - not the other way around

-Use experience design as a guiding tool

-Invest in certain material that can be used every time

-Take care of stakeholders such as suppliers, venues and friends
